Vision & Mission

Updated: Jun 13, 2024

What is a vision and mission?

According to dictionary.cambridge.org:

  • Vision is "the ability to see" or "an idea or mental image of something"

  • Mission is "an important job, especially a military one, that someone is sent somewhere to do" or "any work that someone believes it is their duty to do".

In relation to creative enterprise, vision and mission refer to statements about your businesses values, goals and objectives. They are both essential components of its overall strategy and serve as guiding principles in achieving said goals and objectives. Their purpose is to give your audience an idea of your overall sense of values and motivation. The role of which plays an important part in keeping your business enterprise at the top of its game and in creating and getting your Brand recognised.

As a Spiritualist Medium and award holder of the SNU, I must be mindful in my work that I am not only representing myself, my business and spirit, but also that of upholding the reputation of Spiritualism. Their mission statement being "to promote the religion and religious philosophy of Spiritualism as based upon the 7 Principles." I therefore need to adopt within my business its code of practice, and core values.

Simon Sinek "Golden Circle" speaks about the why, how and what we want to achieve. We know what we do, understanding why we want to do it, what our motivation is, defining the purpose brings a perspective of clarity on what we want to achieve. Knowing what the goal is, leads us to question how can we achieve it and by what means.

The Why, How, and What play an important part in keeping your business enterprise at the top of its game. Utilising the golden circle in creating your businesses "vision and mission" will help clarify your businesses purpose and how you can achieve it. That in turn will highlight what sets your creative enterprise apart from your competitors.

I utilised the golden circle method in developing my businesses vision and mission. Through asking myself why I want to be a creative entrepreneur and what is it I want to achieve, has helped me to clarify my purposes in running my own business. I recognise that my passion lays in instilling knowledge and watching the next generation of mediums grow in knowledge and understanding.

Vision: My vision is to see a world where mediumship is deemed a normal natural ability that some people possess. A faculty that is stronger in some than it is in others, such as for example a musicians natural talent. I'd like to see the stigma attached to people like myself to cease, so that we too can be accepted by society and treated as equals. More importantly however, I would like to see education within mainstream in order to help remove peoples fear of the unknown, in order to stop them being afraid of their own, or loved ones, innate psychic and mediumistic abilities.

Mission: To be of service to spirit and mankind, to raise awareness and normalise peoples natural mediumistic and psychic faculties, to help remove the fear and stigma historically attached to these misunderstood natural abilities. Through:

  • Education: Deliver talks, classes, workshops, and development on the mechanics of psychism and mediumship aimed at helping others understand and explore their own innate abilities. Design courses suitable to be delivered within a mainstream setting i.e. colleges and universities.

  • Demonstrating my mediumship and spirit portraiture in public demonstrations and in private sittings, reuniting people with the faces of their deceased loved ones and providing evidence of survival.

  • Spiritual merchandise, designed by a Spiritualist for Spiritualists and the spiritually minded. Bringing the subject into the public eye through visual merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, cards etc. designed as conversation starters.

  • Write more blogs or finish my books on the subjects of Mediumship, Spirit Portraiture and Auragraphs and get them published.

Values: spirit, community, creativity, personal responsibility.

About me: I'm a creative person and enjoy exploring my artistic talents. I'm a medium and spirit portrait artist who demonstrates and teaches about psychism and mediumship in Churches and Centres around the world, in person or online. My passion however lays in teaching, and in passing on the knowledge I've gained and seeing my students excel in this field of science.
